Committed to developing inquiring, knowledgeable, and open-minded students, we offer a broad curriculum that combines the IB Diploma and Middle Years Programmes with GCSEs. From September 2027, the College will also broaden its post-16 provision to offer A Levels alongside the IB Diploma, ensuring that all students can access the pathway best suited to their strengths, aspirations and future plans.

Our English department plays a vital role in our academic and cultural life, developing students’ confidence, creativity, and critical thinking. All students study English Language and Literature at GCSE, and many continue their studies in the Sixth Form through the IB Diploma and, from 2027, A Level courses. The department is committed to fostering a love of reading, writing, and communication, while equipping students with the skills they need for success in higher education and beyond.

The successful candidate will be passionate about their subject, committed to high-quality teaching and learning, and able to engage and motivate students across all key stages. We are committed to providing students with a rich variety of opportunities beyond the classroom, and the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to this by supporting our existing extra-curricular programme or by introducing new activities that further enhance its breadth and impact.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. All post-holders are subject to a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) including barred list check.
