Teacher of English (Whole School Reading) job summary

We seek to appoint an outstanding, highly motivated teacher of English to join a dynamic and forward-thinking English team.

You will work closely with the senior leadership team and curriculum lead for English and be a key stakeholder in the development of our unique Reading programme across the secondary phase in our all-through school.

You will have the opportunity to work closely with English leaders across the Trust and have meaningful impact on the development and refinement of Trust-wide provision of Reading. As a through-school we are developing the provision of the Reading curriculum through the Key Stages, and you will work with primary colleagues in EYFS, KS1 and KS2 to build an innovative and ambitious Reading programme.

Our daily reading programme has been developed here at Tudor Grange Samworth Academy, and we are keen to ensure that this programme continues to flourish.

The chosen candidate will need to:

  • Be an excellent classroom practitioner
  • Have the ability to lead, motivate and inspire staff and pupils
  • Have a drive for continuing professional development
  • Have experience of managing change and development
  • Have high expectations of all pupils
  • Be committed to continuous improvement and engage in research
