Lymm High School is an 11-18 school with nearly 1900 students (360 in the 6th form) and exceptional resources, including 28 acres of beautiful grounds, a swimming pool, leisure complex and our own residential centre in Anglesey. A very good and well-established school already, we have made rapid progress in recent years and have no intention of resting on our laurels. The potential here is huge.
We are currently looking for a talented teacher of English. The English faculty are a strong and supportive team who enjoy one another’s company. They are also firmly on an upwards trajectory and it would be an exciting time to join them. English results last summer were very good (P8 score of 0.3; 95% grades 9-4; 81% 9-5 and 29% 9-7) and we are confident they would have been higher still this summer. The improvement in recent years is no accident; it has come about through strong faculty leadership and a willingness on the part of teachers to engage with an agenda built around delivering a rigorous, inspiring and ‘knowledge-rich’ curriculum to all students. We offer English Language and English Literature at A’ level and always have healthy numbers opting for both subjects.
We would be delighted to receive applications from NQTs as well as more experienced teachers; it is your values, commitment and potential that we are most interested in. We pride ourselves on providing lots of support and plenty of opportunities for professional development for colleagues at all stages of their career.
Please see the linked documents or our website for further details. Ordinarily, we would offer the chance to visit the school but obviously that is not possible in the current circumstances. However, if you cannot find the information you need to help you decide whether we are the kind of school you would be happy working in, please do let us know and we would be happy to arrange phone calls or even a ‘virtual’ meeting with the relevant people. Contact recruitment@lymmhigh.org.uk with any queries.
This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this legal requirement.
The successful applicant's appointment will be subject to satisfactory pre-employment clearances including a Disclosure and Barring Service check (formally CRB). For further details and an application form please visit: www.lymmhigh.org.uk
Closing date for application: Friday 10th July at 9am (n.b. early applications would be advantageous, and in such cases, we may interview and appoint before the deadline)
Interview Date: w/c 13th Julyl (n.b. we may carry out interviews remotely) Application forms should be returned to recruitment@lymmhigh.org.uk
