What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for a Teacher Of English to join our team in September 2024. This post is suitable for NQTs. Subject specialism essential. At Marine Academy we deliver a knowledge-rich curriculum that is cohesive, cumulative and highly sequenced. The curriculum is academic, rigorous and challenging. It has been designed with long-term memory in mind; students’ knowledge, skills and understanding are cemented by frequent and systematic revisiting. As a teacher at Marine Academy your time will be highly valued. You will not be expected to mark homework- this is already planned and set for you. You will not be expected to attend pointless meetings- our meetings have specific foci, and only happen on a Monday. You will not be routinely expected to handwrite feedback to students. Your lessons will not be disrupted by poor behaviour, our system will remove students who cannot follow our rules so that you can get on with teaching.

You will receive weekly -1-2-1 coaching in order to make continual improvements within your teaching. This improvement will be aligned to the very latest in educational research and thinking. You will follow Schemes of Learning that are already planned and resourced for you. You will be supported by like-minded colleagues in an atmosphere of respect and creativity.
