Sponne is a successful, over-subscribed community comprehensive school with 1441 students aged 11-18 on roll and specialist status for Science and Music. Outcomes are very high with 80% of students gaining grades 9-4 in English and Mathematics at GCSE.

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and committed Teacher to join our vibrant and extremely successful English faculty team with effect from January 2021.This is a temporary position to cover the Maternity Leave of an existing colleague who currently works 0.80. It would be suitable for a Teacher looking for either a part time or full time post, including experienced colleagues. Candidates can also be considered for a responsibility allowance dependent on interest and experience; knowledge of KS4, particularly AQA English Literature and Eduqas English Language would be an advantage.

Student achievement is very high (85% 9-4 in English GCSE and a Progress 8 score of +0.60) and the faculty is well resourced. English Language, English Literature and Media Studies area all offered at GCSE and A-Level and the uptake is very high. The faculty is well resourced and the team is friendly and supportive. Students are enthusiastic, hardworking and grateful for the education and opportunities they receive.

The successful candidate will:

· Have Qualified Teacher Status

· English as their specialism

· Have good teaching skills

· Have to meet the person specification and will be required to apply for a DBS disclosure.

Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
