What skills and experience we're looking for

Essential

  • Teaching English to at least GCSE Level.
  • A proven track record as a good/outstanding classroom teacher.
  • A proven track record of high standards of achievement.
  • The ability to use data effectively to track progress, set targets and implement appropriate intervention strategies.
  • Experience as a Form Tutor.

Desirable

  • Experience of teaching within an 11-18 school.

Essential

  • Sound knowledge of the English curriculum.
  • Excellent knowledge of a wide range of pedagogic approaches.
  • Good understanding of the assessment processes for English and how to use these to support planning and raise student achievement.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of strategies for promoting good relationships with students and effective behaviour management techniques.
  • Confident use of ICT.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
