Teacher of English - MATERNITY COVER job summary

We are seeking a well-organised, dynamic, and highly motivated individual who is passionate about English and dedicated to delivering outstanding teaching and learning experiences. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to inspire a love of reading, writing, and critical analysis through a rich and engaging English curriculum that supports and challenges all learners.

You will be someone who can captivate and motivate students of all abilities, instilling in them confidence and enthusiasm for English Language and Literature. In addition, you will play an active role in promoting a culture of literacy across the school. The ideal candidate will also be a strong team player, capable of collaborating effectively with colleagues within the faculty and across the wider school community, contributing positively to curriculum development and whole-school initiatives.

A proven track record of securing positive outcomes for pupils is essential, alongside a commitment to continuous professional development and the drive to make a meaningful impact in a faith-based educational setting.

A genuine passion for education and a desire to make a difference in the lives of young people is vital, as is the ability to build strong, supportive relationships with students and staff alike.

There may also be opportunities to contribute to extracurricular enrichment, including debate clubs, theatre trips, reading programmes, and creative writing initiatives that enhance students' learning beyond the classroom.
