We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join our team on a fixed term basis. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching across KS3 and KS4, inspiring students to achieve their full potential in English Language and Literature.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
  • Assess, record, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports learning.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including SEND and EAL students.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and departmental planning.
  • Maintain accurate records and comply with school policies on assessment and safeguarding.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and whole-school initiatives.
  • Support and promote extra-curricular activities within the English department

What We’re Looking For:

  • A qualified teacher with QTS and a degree in English
  • Passion for literature and language, with the ability to inspire and engage students across KS3 and KS4.
  • A proven track record of successful outcomes at KS3 and KS4
  • Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Ability to differentiate lessons to meet diverse learning needs.
  • A team player who contributes positively to the English department and wider school community.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Strong subject knowledge in English.
  • Ability to motivate and support students of varying abilities.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
