Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering engaging and challenging lessons to KS3 and KS4 students
- Preparing pupils for GCSE English Language and Literature
- Supporting student progress through thoughtful planning, feedback and assessment

Candidate Profile:
Qualifications & Experience:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Has experience teaching English at Key Stages 3 and 4, ideally with a proven track record of strong GCSE outcomes.
- Demonstrates up-to-date knowledge of the National Curriculum for English and current exam board requirements (e.g., AQA, Edexcel).
Skills & Qualities:
- Passionate about literature, language, and creative writing, and eager to share that passion with students.
- Skilled in differentiating lessons to support a wide range of abilities, including SEND and EAL learners.
- Strong classroom presence with excellent behaviour management strategies and high expectations for all students.
- Able to use assessment data effectively to inform teaching and accelerate student progress.
- Familiar with or open to using technology and digital tools to enhance learning.
Professionalism & Attitude:
- Enthusiastic, resilient, and committed to continuous professional growth.
- A team player who contributes positively to department planning and wider school life.
- Willing to lead or support enrichment activities, clubs, or trips related to English, literacy, or drama.
- Committed to safeguarding, inclusion, and promoting the wellbeing of all students.
- Brings energy, creativity, and a growth mindset to the classroom and school community.
