Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering engaging and challenging lessons to KS3 and KS4 students

Candidate Profile:

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Has experience teaching English at Key Stages 3 and 4, ideally with a proven track record of strong GCSE outcomes.
  • Demonstrates up-to-date knowledge of the National Curriculum for English and current exam board requirements (e.g., AQA, Edexcel).

Skills & Qualities:

  • Passionate about literature, language, and creative writing, and eager to share that passion with students.
  • Skilled in differentiating lessons to support a wide range of abilities, including SEND and EAL learners.
  • Strong classroom presence with excellent behaviour management strategies and high expectations for all students.
  • Able to use assessment data effectively to inform teaching and accelerate student progress.
  • Familiar with or open to using technology and digital tools to enhance learning.

  • Enthusiastic, resilient, and committed to continuous professional growth.
  • A team player who contributes positively to department planning and wider school life.
  • Willing to lead or support enrichment activities, clubs, or trips related to English, literacy, or drama.
