Teacher of English (TLR: Whole School Literacy Lead) job summary

  • About the Role

    We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of English to deliver high-quality, engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the ability or willingness to contribute to A Level English Language. You will plan and deliver inclusive, challenging learning experiences, assess and track progress effectively, and play an active role in the ongoing development of the English curriculum.

    TLR: Whole School Literacy Lead

    In addition to teaching, this role includes responsibility for leading Whole School Literacy. As Literacy Lead, you will design, implement and evaluate a literacy strategy aligned with the school’s ethos and improvement priorities. You will work collaboratively with senior and subject leaders to raise standards of reading, writing, oracy and disciplinary literacy across all subjects, supporting colleagues through high-quality professional development, coaching and resources. You will use evidence and data to evaluate impact and champion a strong culture of reading and language across the school community.
