What skills and experience we're looking for

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and enthusiastic teacher to join our thriving English Department for a one-year temporary position. We are seeking a colleague with a strong passion for English who is also confident in teaching Drama to support our established and successful Drama team. While the role is majority English, the ability to deliver high-quality Drama lessons is an important part of this post.

The successful candidate will inspire pupils through a rich, ambitious and engaging English curriculum that develops strong literacy, analytical thinking and a genuine love of the subject. Applicants should possess excellent subject knowledge and the ability to plan and deliver effective lessons that promote curiosity, high expectations and inclusive practice for learners of all abilities.

In addition to their work within English, the postholder will contribute to Drama teaching and classroom provision, helping to maintain the high standards and creative ethos of the department. A willingness to bring energy, collaboration and imagination to Drama lessons will be highly valued.

The role also includes contributing to and marking assessments, creating resources across KS3 and KS4, and engaging fully in departmental meetings, INSET and training. The successful candidate will join a supportive, forward-thinking team committed to delivering excellent learning experiences across the school.

If you are a dynamic and reflective practitioner, passionate about English and excited to support our Drama provision, we would be delighted to receive your application.
