Teacher of Expressive & Performing Arts - Specialism in Music job summary

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and inspirational Teacher of Expressive & Performing Arts, with a specialism in Music, who will engage, enable, and empower students in their learning. The successful candidate will be dynamic, creative, and ambitious, with a strong commitment to building a culture of trust and excellence within the classroom.

This role focuses on delivering high-quality teaching that inspires creativity, develops musical knowledge and performance skills, and nurtures confidence and self-expression. The successful candidate will foster an inclusive environment where all students can explore and develop their artistic identity in line with our school’s values.

Skills and Qualifications

  • A strong interest in music and performing arts, with the ability to inspire and engage secondary school students
  • Good communication skills to deliver practical and theoretical lessons effectively to students, parents, and colleagues
  • Ability to plan creative lessons that meet curriculum requirements for Key Stage 3
  • Classroom management skills ensuring a positive, productive, and inclusive learning environment
  • Willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities such as choirs, ensembles, or performances
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and develop professionally within the teaching profession
  • Relevant qualifications or training in music, performing arts, or education are desirable but not essential
