Teacher of Female PE job summary

Details

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Teacher of Female PE with the ability to deliver a variety of sports, including netball, athletics and football to join an excellently resourced PE department at this successful and oversubscribed comprehensive school. The successful candidate will have a degree in Sports Science or equivalent, experience of GCSE and Vocational courses would be desirable.

Principal Responsibilities

  • To teach PE across the ability and 11-18 age range in line with departmental schemes of work and policies.
  • To participate in the development of appropriate syllabuses, materials and schemes of work
  • To be accountable for student progress by liaising with teaching and support staff to monitor and support individual children and teaching groups.

Additional Specific Responsibilities

  • To be Form Tutor of an assigned form and to carry out related duties in accordance with the general job description of a Form Tutor.

General Duties

  • To carry out a share of supervisory duties in accordance with published rosters.
  • To participate in appropriate meetings with colleagues and parents relative to the above duties.
  • To participate in the performance and development review process, taking personal responsibility for identification of learning, development and training opportunities in discussion with line manager.
  • To comply with individual responsibilities, in accordance with the role, for health & safety in the workplace • Ensure that all duties and services provided are in accordance with the School’s Equal Opportunities Policy
