Teacher of Food Technology job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, dynamic, motivated and able Teacher of Food Technology to join our successful Technology department.
We are looking for an excellent practitioner to work collaboratively with the Head of Technology to deliver outstanding lessons, raise academic achievement and ensure all pupils make outstanding progress. It would be desirable if the Food Technology teacher can teach across the full age and ability range across all the Design & Technology subjects.
The Role:
- As a Food Technology Teacher you will be responsible for teaching students the practical and theoretical aspects of food science, nutrition, food safety, culinary techniques, and sustainable food practices.
- You will design and deliver lessons that engage students in understanding the science of food, preparing and cooking various types of dishes, and studying the impact of food on health and the environment.
- As a Food Technology Teacher you will also promote safe kitchen practices, nutrition, and the development of essential life skills.
- You will be a teacher who leads by example and has a passion for placing students at the heart of the curriculum, ensuring that their learning is meaningful and engaging.
