Teacher of Food Technology - Alternative Provision job summary

King’s Leadership Phoenix Academy is seeking to appoint an inspiring and dedicated Teacher of Food Technology to join our growing and ambitious team.

As part of the Great Schools Trust, King’s Phoenix is a vibrant alternative provision school based in Liverpool. We serve a diverse cohort of aged 11-16 young people, many with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Our approach is deeply rooted in compassion, innovation, and a belief that every student can succeed.

Our Food Technology provision is well-resourced with a purpose-built kitchen and small class sizes (max. 8), allowing for individualised teaching and strong student-teacher relationships. What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Delivering engaging and creative Food Technology lessons to KS3 students
  • Adapting teaching methods to SEMH learners’ needs, using personalised support strategies
  • Working collaboratively with SLT, pastoral and external professionals to support students holistically
  • Embedding emotional literacy, character development and resilience into lessons
  • Contributing to behaviour support planning and strategic development of the curriculum
  • Reflecting regularly on practice and embracing restorative approaches
