Teacher of Food Technology job summary

Our Food Technology department provides excellent facilities for high quality teaching, with fully equipped kitchens and technician support. The working environment is excellent with all staff employing outstanding teamworking skills. At KS3, students follow an engaging technology curriculum where they carousel between a range of technology subjects. All students have the opportunity to develop their knowledge and understanding in food technology and thoroughly enjoy their lessons leading to a high up take at Key Stage 4. At GCSE, Hospitality and Catering is a very popular option with 3 groups in Year 10 and 3 groups in Year 11 taught over 5 hours a fortnight.

We are a supportive, forward-thinking department that really values engaging, hands-on learning. You’ll be working in a well-equipped space, with two dedicated food rooms and the support of an experienced technician, so you can focus on what you do best—bringing food education to life. We take pride in creating practical, enjoyable lessons for our students so that they can develop the skills they need to be successful.

It is an exciting time to join the team as we are currently working on developing the curriculum, so that it is even more engaging and applicable to our students' wider aspirations.

  • Take part in wider school life, including enrichment activities and extra-curricular opportunities
  • Play an active role in supporting the school’s commitment to raising achievement for all
