Teacher of French and German job summary

One of the country’s leading academic schools, Queen Elizabeth’s Barnet blends a distinctive heritage and proud traditions with an innovative, forward-looking approach to providing a state education like no other to 1,300 boys aged 11-18.

The languages department enjoys a high reputation for pupil achievement and consists of a committed team of specialist teachers working in a collaborative, well-resourced environment.

Languages occupy a core position within our curriculum. All pupils study French, German and Latin throughout Key Stage 3 and must continue with at least one modern foreign language through to GCSE. French and German have impressive uptake in the Sixth Form and there is an exciting enrichment programme of trips and exchanges throughout the School.

The successful candidate will have strong academic credentials and will be passionate about language learning with an understanding of how to inspire very able boys within and beyond the classroom.

Ideally, candidates will be able to teach both subjects to at least GCSE.

Applications are welcome from experienced teachers as well as from those who are new to teaching.

Closing date: 9am on Monday 19 May 2025. Applications will be considered as they are received.
