MPS/UPS plus TLR 3 (£2,833) for the three-year role of Primary Link Co-ordinator

What skills and experience we're looking for

Bonjour! Hola! Hello!

You will be an inspirational, innovative and charismatic teacher looking to join a happy, motivated and experienced team of Language specialists.

Your love for the subject will be infectious to our students, and you will make languages accessible and relevant to them. You will have autonomy in your teaching and be provided with an outstanding CPD package for personal development. You will be an aspiring middle leader and either now, or with experience, will become an outstanding practitioner.

As a committed and innovative teacher, you can look forward to teaching KS3 and KS4, with opportunities in KS5 for the right candidate.

You will need to be someone who cares both for our students and for your team. We pride ourselves on the unity of our staff and our departments. The Highcrest family is an important part of academy life. The right candidate will embrace the school’s visions and values to be an integral part of our team.

In addition, you may be interested in building our Primary Link Co-ordinator role where you will forge and develop links between Year 5/Year 6 of our feeder primaries and our Year 7 teachers to improve the provision of STEM and literacy across the KS2/KS3 transition years. (See full job description attached.)

Are you a team player, passionate about education and social mobility? Do you want to be a pivotal part of improving opportunities for students and increasing their learning and social experiences? Do you want to work in an environment which prioritises staff and student health and well-being? Then please apply now!

What the school offers its staff

Highcrest offers both an excellent induction and support programme for ECTs and an innovative and extensive CPD package for more experienced teachers. This provision of training has been praised as outstanding by an external assessor and highlighted in the local press. For ECTs, we provide weekly CPD meetings with experienced members of staff, time-tabled and protected Mentor Meetings on a weekly basis, subject knowledge time with departments and an extensive personalised CPD plan.

“Staff feel very well supported by senior leaders. According to staff, they feel valued because senior leaders are approachable…”. Ofsted Report February 2020

A thriving and friendly academy in the heart of the community, with staff recognition schemes, a free gym and staff sports teams to counter the free breakfast, “Friday Treats” and on-site coffee shop! We also offer the possibility of shared staff living accommodation and on-site parking.

Further details about the role

Our Ofsted Report February 2020 says, “The school has a warm and welcoming atmosphere” and “Pupils at The Highcrest Academy happily live up to the school’s motto of ‘aspire and achieve’”.

All who work at the academy reinforce our six virtues linked to our motto (Ambition, Sensitivity, Purpose, Integrity, Resilience and Eloquence), helping us instil a culture of excellence that runs throughout every strand of our Academy.

Situated in the leafy Chilterns and within easy reach of Central London, Highcrest is culturally and academically diverse and is the only academy in Buckinghamshire that caters for students of ‘all abilities’. Some of our students need all your support, whilst others need to be challenged and stretched. Our inclusive and successful House system and a wide range of clubs, visits and trips help to bring our whole school community together.

There are approximately 1,000 students on roll, including the Sixth Form. Recent additions to our site include a gym and restaurant/coffee shop for both staff and students, as well as a purpose-built Sixth Form Centre.

The Highcrest Academy is fully committed to safeguarding children (policies on web). All members of staff are in a “regulated” role under the Vetting & Barring Scheme and have to be DBS cleared prior to employment.
