Geography plays a prominent part in the life of the School and is taught by experienced specialist teachers. The Geography Department has four key members of staff and dedicated administration support. You would be joining an excellent department and as part of this team you will have the opportunity to teach across the age and ability range up to and including A level. There are fieldwork opportunities for students, including residentials at Post 16. Additionally, Geography is also taught as a discrete subject at Key Stage 3. This is the ideal post for a candidate who wishes to develop their skills and broaden their experience within a supportive environment which will allow them to excel.
At King Edward VII School we pursue an academically challenging and inclusive ethos and the study of Religion and Philosophy at all key stages contributes to this outcome. The department consists of three specialist staff and fully supports the local NATRE network who meet termly as part of the Sheffield Learning Hub. The post will involve ensuring the quality of academic spiritual, moral, social and cultural (SMSC) provision in terms of curriculum delivery, assessment and achievement for both subjects.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and safety of children and young people and expect all staff to show this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to complete Disclosure and Barring Service declarations in line with Section 115 of the Police Act 1997. All applicants are required to read the Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy incorporating Self-Harm and Online Safety.
The successful candidate will be required to teach across both sites. At King Edward VII School we offer an excellent benefits package, including a pension, a cycle to work scheme, eye test vouchers and cash plan including therapy benefits.
