What skills and experience we're looking for
Are you a passionate geographer dedicated to inspiring the next generation? Dyke House Academy, part of the Northern Education Trust (NET), is seeking an exceptional Teacher of Geography to join our team. We are looking for a practitioner who can set high expectations that motivate and challenge pupils of all backgrounds and abilities.
At NET, we expect all teachers to demonstrate practice consistent with the National Teaching Standards, serving as professional role models who promote the academy's image through their conduct and dedication.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be accountable for pupil attainment and progress while fostering a safe and stimulating learning environment. Your core duties will include:
- Curriculum & Knowledge:Demonstrating secure subject knowledge to foster interest in Geography and promote the value of scholarship.
- Planning & Delivery:Imparting knowledge through well-structured lessons that promote intellectual curiosity and a love of learning.
- Adaptive Teaching:Differentiating instruction to support all pupils, including those with SEND, high ability, or English as an additional language.
- Assessment:Using formative and summative data to monitor progress, set targets, and provide regular, accurate feedback to pupils.
- Behaviour Management:Establishing clear routines and high expectations for behavior in accordance with the Academy’s policy.
The Candidate
We are looking for a specialist who:
- HoldsQualified Teacher Status (QTS)and maintains high standards of ethics and personal conduct.
- Possesses a critical understanding of developments within the Geography curriculum.
- Demonstrates a commitment to promoting high standards of literacy and articulacy.
- Can develop effective professional relationships with colleagues and communicate successfully with parents regarding pupil well-being.
