Teacher of Geography job summary
The ideal candidate will bring strong subject expertise, a passion for curriculum development, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively. They will demonstrate a commitment to working constructively within a supportive and forward‑thinking team.
The Fernwood School has a long‑standing tradition of excellence and an ambitious vision for the continued growth of its curriculum. Our well‑established Geography Department works collaboratively to deliver a carefully sequenced, thoughtfully planned curriculum underpinned by current research and high‑quality teaching and learning strategies. Geography is an extremely popular subject at Fernwood, and our students consistently achieve results above the national average. We are now seeking an inspiring teacher to join the team, bringing fresh ideas, innovation, and a commitment to driving further excellence.
The successful candidate will be a dedicated subject specialist with strong pedagogical knowledge and a genuine passion for inspiring a love of geography. The department sits within a wider Humanities faculty of 15 specialist staff, committed to developing students’ subject fluency and recognised for creating engaging learning experiences both in and beyond the classroom.
