Teacher of Geography

1.0 FTE - Permanent

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and inspiring teacher of Geography to join our dynamic Humanities team. A Level Geography is a popular and successful subject at Franklin College, following the Edexcel Pearson specification. We are seeking a teacher who can bring creativity, energy, and expertise to the department as we seek to widen our curriculum offer into Sustainability.

We are looking for a well-qualified teacher with a degree in a relevant subject, a passion for Geography, and the ability to motivate and engage students. The successful candidate will have a track record of delivering high-quality teaching and learning, with the flexibility to contribute across the wider curriculum area. You should also be eager to play an active role in enrichment and the broader life of the College.

In return, we offer enthusiastic and motivated students who are keen to learn, and a supportive, collaborative working environment where staff are encouraged to innovate. You will benefit from a strong culture of professional development and will have the opportunity to take on additional responsibilities as the subject develops. Most importantly, this post offers the chance to make a real difference to students’ futures in a college that values innovation, inclusivity, and success for all.

Franklin College offers a fantastic working environment, where staff are valued and supported in their professional development. Salaries are competitive, based on the Sixth Form College teachers’ pay scale, depending on qualification and experience (NSP1 £32,178 to NSP9 £49,725 FTE per annum), with excellent opportunities for career progression. Please note that these pay scales are reviewed annually by the National Joint Council (NJC) and are subject to a nationally agreed pay award, which, once agreed, will be backdated to the 1st September 2025.

Alongside a generous Teachers’ Pension Scheme, staff benefit from free on-site gym facilities, free parking, a Cycle to Work Scheme, and excellent on-site catering facilities.

Join an inspiring team that is shaping futures and helping students achieve their full potential.
