What skills and experience we're looking for

We are a highly supportive school with strong subject and senior leadership to help you develop. We are looking for a highly ambitious, committed and dynamic professional to join our Geography department; someone who is passionate about their subject, communicates well with young people and makes a positive impact on their learning. The Geography department comprises of 4 full-time Geography teachers, including a Curriculum Leader. We work collaboratively to support each other both with the demands of our work and our wellbeing.

The successful applicant will have a passion about learning, have strong inter-personal skills, be resilient, be an excellent teacher and have great subject knowledge. They will be able to deliver Geography up to KS4 including both human and physical Geography topics. We currently follow the AQA GCSE specification with Geography a very popular choice; we have 6 GCSE classes in Year 9 and 5 GCSE classes in Year 10. As a department, we are very proud of the fieldwork opportunities we offer our students ranging from local fieldwork to upcoming residentials to Dorset and Iceland. The successful candidate would understand the importance of learning Geography beyond the classroom.
