With you in our classrooms, we can change lives.
We're looking for a dedicated female Girls PE Teacher teacher to join our warm, supportive team at Winton Community Academy.

Ready for your talents to be nurtured?
Come and play a vital role in ensuring our students receive the education they deserve. In collaboration with colleagues, you will deliver outstanding teaching to every child, in every classroom, every day. At our school, we ensure that you have the time and space needed to get on with what matters most - educating - so we remove as much administrative burden from you as possible.

PE is a popular subject within the school and we are extremely lucky to have a fantastic department of hard-working, friendly and experienced colleagues as well as excellent sports facilities including a multi-use games area and a recently refurbished gymnasium.

This is an opportunity to make a tangible impact on the lives of young people.

About Winton Community Academy:
We are a popular secondary school with a great reputation within the local community. The school boasts fantastic facilities, which includes a newly renovated library and new music suite, dance studios, animal management area and expansive grounds. In addition to this, we have recently celebrated the opening of our brand new £5m expansion building, which includes a full size school hall, two state of the art science laboratories and two additional classrooms, as well as new toilet facilities. We are also pleased to have recently opened our renovated 'Inclusion Space' which has bespoke classrooms and breakout space for our nurture and SEND students.

The school maintained a 'Good' grade in the latest visit by Ofsted in 2023. We pride ourselves on a culture of high support and high expectations, and we have excellent relationships with families and the community who work closely with us to ensure every child receives an excellent education.

The role is due to commence from Easter 2025 or sooner. This is a full time, permanent position.

Early applications are strongly encouraged as we will be reviewing and interviewing as suitable applications are received.

Closing date: 10 December 2024

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early should we receive an overwhelming response. All candidates are advised to refer to the job description and person specification before making an application.

Lift Schools are committed to ensuring the highest levels of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our pupils, and we expect all our people and volunteers to share this commitment. We adopt a fair and consistent recruitment process which is inline with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance. This includes online checks for shortlisted candidates. All offers of employment are subject to an Enhanced DBS check, references, and where applicable, a prohibition from teaching check.

We are a Disability Confident Employer and there is a guaranteed interview scheme for candidates with disabilities who meet the minimum selection criteria.

The school has rapidly improved and was graded a "Good" school by Ofsted in 2018. Our school is quickly gaining a positive reputation across Andover as a place where excellent teaching and strong support means that students thrive at our school.

Our students are our absolute strength. They are overwhelmingly polite, respectful and hard-working. We expect our students to work hard and behave well both inside and outside of the classroom. Over the last two years we have invested heavily in improving the resources that students have access to such as a new dance studio, a new library and the development of our animal management area as we believe our students deserve the best in order to be successful. As a community, we live and breathe our school values as we all understand that by adhering to them our community will be a better place to learn.
