Ridgeway Academy boasts excellent sports facilities, including a sports hall with junkers sprung flooring suitable for four badminton courts. There is also a floodlit all-weather pitch, extensive playing fields with multiple football and rugby pitches, a cricket square, and a full-size athletics track. The gymnasium and changing rooms have been refurbished, and there are two air-conditioned dance studios, a health and fitness suite, two classrooms for exams, three tennis courts, and two halls suitable for badminton and volleyball.
As a vibrant community school, the existing PE facilities are utilized by our primary feeder schools, the local community, and various community groups.
Ridgeway Academy School is proud to be part of The Ambition Education Trust (AET) which consists of ten schools in Hertfordshire; three primary, one nursery and infants’, one juniors and five secondary. Our Trust launched in September 2024 following the amalgamation of two established Multi Academy Trusts (MATs), Alban Academies Trust and Atlas Multi Academy Trust. Alban Academies Trust provides an enhanced induction programme for all of their Early Career Teachers (ECTs) during July which attracts an attendance payment in July and August.
