Teacher of Girls PE job summary

We are an active and vibrant department containing 4 specialist teachers. We aim to provide students with access to a wide range of practical sporting activities, which enable them to develop physically and spiritually. The curriculum has been developed to allow students to access a range of individual and team sports and activities providing opportunity to develop a love for sport or physical activity that they may continue with in later life. We promote teamwork and sportsmanship and develop students social and resilience skills. Students in Key Stage 3 receive 2 hours of core PE per week and cover many different sporting activities, providing a platform to learn ‘basic to advanced’ skills, and learn how to apply them effectively in competitive situations. Students cover a wide range of different sports ensuring a broad and balanced curriculum. At Key Stage 4, students receive 1 hour of core PE time per week. Pupils can also choose between GCSE PE and the Cambridge National Award in Sports Science, both following the OCR specification. We offer an extensive extra-curricular programme. All extra-curricular clubs are inclusive in nature and support all students regardless of ability or experience. We offer daily lunch clubs and weekly after school training sessions in a variety of different sports. Students will be able to represent the school in various local and regional competitions against other schools within Trafford. The ability to teach a second subject is essential.
