Teacher of Girls Physical Education (Maternity Cover) job summary
Charters School PE department is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, well-qualified and highly committed teacher to join our strong, dynamic and well-resourced Department for the Maternity Cover (one year) of one of our PE Teachers.
You will be joining a friendly, fun-loving team and we need you to have a love of teaching, a willingness to try new ideas and be a team player who puts the good of the students at the heart of all that you do. You will be passionate about ensuring every student meets their potential. The ability to teach a second subject would be an advantage.
The School offers a strong tradition of excellent outcomes but also a broad curriculum suited to all students. The school’s behaviour policy is robust, and staff have welcomed the introduction of centralised sanctions and inclusive policies.
We believe our best resources are our teachers. There is a popular and thriving programme of continuing professional development in the department and across the school, at all levels, and colleagues have the opportunity to develop personally and professionally. The school also offers excellent promotion prospects and a comprehensive induction programme.
The PE Department at Charters offers GCSE PE in KS4, and A Level PE and BTEC Sport at KS5. Students also have the opportunity to take part in the Young Apprentice leadership programme, Sports Leaders UK awards and coaching qualifications.
Charters School has excellent facilities including a Sports Hall, two Dance Studios, Health & Fitness Suite, Astroturf, Tennis and Netball Courts and extensive playing fields, plus dedicated PE/ICT Classrooms.
The post would be appropriate for an ECT or a more experienced teacher.
The priority admission of children of successful applicants applies for this subject.
