Teacher of Health & Social Care job summary

 
We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teacher of BTEC Health & Social Care to join our team in the Applied Learning Faculty. At KHS, Health and Social Care is delivered as a Level 3 National Extended Diploma, equivalent to three A Levels. The units include a wide range of topics for example, Anatomy and Physiology, Physiological disorders and their care, Nutritional health, Understanding Mental Health and Sociological perspectives. 
 
Although desirable, you are not required to have experience as a teacher of Health and Social Care. Qualification in at least one of the topics on the Level 3 Extended Diploma specification is essential/desirable. More important is a passion for vocational qualifications and the ability to motivate students to achieve their full potential. 
 
Health & Social Care students achieve good results at our school and many go on to study a variety of subjects at degree level at highly competitive universities, such as Midwifery at King's College, Adult nursing at City University, Biomedical science at Middlesex and Roehampton. The course gives our students a wide range of opportunities at University and Apprenticeship level. 

With a strong track record of success, this is an opportunity for a motivated and passionate teacher to make the most of our diverse student body and contribute to our team under the direction of the Head of Department. The candidate should be flexible and willing to learn new content and deliver units out of their field of expertise. 

The vacancy is suitable for an NQT or someone looking to broaden their teaching experience.
