This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher of Health & Social Care to join an established and forward looking department, in a school that values the full breadth of the curriculum.

Lymm High School is a well-established, 11-18 school with over 1950 students (400 in the 6th form) and exceptional resources, including 28 acres of beautiful grounds, a swimming pool, leisure complex and our own residential centre in Anglesey. Rapid and sustained improvement in recent years led to a Progress 8 score of 0.56 in 2019, with 9-4 and 9-5 basics measures at 70% and 90% respectively. It is also a lovely place in which to work; in addition to our good fortune with our physical surroundings, staff are exceptionally positive, committed and supportive.

Health and Social Care sits within the PE faculty, but is also taught by teachers from the Social Sciences team. Health and Social Care is a popular subject that is offered as a BTEC at both KS4 and KS5. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed team player, who has the ability to teach Health & Social Care up to KS5. There is some flexibility in that the post is part time Health and Social care, but hours could be increased depending on whether the candidate is able to teach other subjects. A preference would be for PE, but we will happily consider other subjects. This post would suit an NQT as well as someone who has already been teaching for a few years. We are as interested in your potential and determination to become a first class practitioner as we are in your experience to date.

If, prior to submitting an application, you would like to see for yourself why we believe this is such a fabulous school in which to work and why the post itself is so exciting, then do not hesitate to contact us to arrange a phone call or a (socially distanced) visit. Contact recruitment@lymmhigh.org.uk with any queries.

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this legal requirement.

The successful applicant's appointment will be subject to satisfactory pre-employment clearances including a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Closing date for application: 9am Wednesday 26th January
