What skills and experience we're looking for
To start from 4th November 2024 (or sooner if available), we are looking for an exceptional History and Politics Teacher who will inspire and motivate students in this distinctive and high achieving state-funded day and boarding school for boys in the lower school and large mixed Sixth Form.
We are looking for someone with enthusiasm, high expectations and standards, and who will create a buzz and excitement both within and beyond the confines of the classroom. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to deliver outstanding academic results and exemplary classroom practice.
What the school offers its staff
The History department is part of the Humanities faculty and as such, the successful candidate will enjoy working alongside a supportive and experienced group of colleagues. History results at Beechen Cliff are very strong and a large number of students choose to study the subject at GCSE and A Level. The successful candidate will therefore be expected to teach History at KS3, GCSE and A Level. There may also be the opportunity to teach Politics A’ level.
The School has a vibrant extra-curricular life, which includes sport, music, debating, drama, outdoor activities and public speaking. A willingness to contribute will be a clear advantage.
Commitment to safeguarding
Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced Disclosure Barring Service Certificate is required for this post prior to commencement.
