Job description

To teach all classes allocated to him/her by the Head of Department to a high standard. This will include other Humanities subjects at Key Stage 3 if required. To support the development of History in the school

Essential educational requirements

First degree in a closely related subject to teaching subject.

Achieved or working towards, a teaching qualification.

Ability to deliver good teaching and learning and to motivate, challenge and inspire our students.

Ability to teach literacy within specialist area

Ability to communicate sensitively, imaginatively and effectively with young people.

Ability to communicate effectively with parents, to represent the school clearly and positively, and feed back information as appropriate.

Ability to work independently and as an integral member of a team (listening, being open to discussion, valuing contributions of others).

Good skills in liaising with associate staff, and professionals outside School.

Ability to plan sequences of lessons, organise time and resources.

Ability to use ICT effectively as an integral component to the role.
