This role presents a brilliant opportunity to play a pivotal part in the improvement journey of the school. We are looking to appoint practitioners who thrive on the energy and creativity of the classroom environment and those who value the positive impact they can have at a school that is ambitious for all pupils. Our results are improving at pace and you will be able to enjoy teaching students who are keen to learn and who will value your enthusiasm and love of subject. What the school offers its staff
Filey School is a close-knit community, and we pride ourselves on knowing all of our pupils well. We understand how vital it is that students from Filey and surrounding areas enjoy the benefits of an engaging and enriching curriculum offer that results in the very best outcomes for them. We want them to be able to realise their full potential and to do great things. We aim to support our students so that they are confident, community-minded young people who love learning and will be a positive presence wherever they choose to go next.
We aim to ensure that our pupils can learn in a safe and supportive environment, where everyone values academic achievement and has a positive attitude to learning. Our recent Ofsted inspection acknowledged the improvement journey that the school is on and we are fully committed to building on the successes we are having for the good of our students. We place learning at the heart of everything we do and believe that all students should have the opportunity to feel proud of their achievements. As such, we believe in rewarding pupils for good behaviour, attendance and achievement and run a number of celebration events throughout the year.
We strongly encourage our pupils to take part in enrichment activities so they can discover all their strengths and talents, and run numerous clubs, as well as pupil support sessions and interventions. We also regularly organise whole school events and educational visits so that our pupils have a broad experience of learning beyond the classroom. Recent overseas trips have included visits to Berlin and the Western Front and there are regular theatre trips and sporting fixtures.
