We seek an experienced and proactive individual who is keen to guide and support students to achieve their highest achievable potential. The successful candidate will teach History throughout the 11 - 18 age and ability range, planning and delivering lessons, making them enjoyable, personalised and challenging for students; creating lessons that meet the needs of the individual needs of the students.

Professional Knowledge and Experience
Understanding and/or experience of current developments in education
Understanding of current approaches to assessment, recording and reporting procedures at various levels
Knowledge of the implications for teaching in a multicultural environment
Knowledge and understanding of issues related to equal opportunities and their implications for classroom practices in teaching
Knowledge and awareness of the extended school’s programme
Knowledge of the impact of ICT and Virtual Learning Environments in the field of education
Knowledge and understanding of Child Protection and Safeguarding issues
Professional Skills - to be demonstrated to the interviewing panel’s satisfaction
Ability to liaise with other teaching staff and work in co-operation with colleagues
Ability to motivate pupils using a variety of teaching methods and the setting of appropriate goals and monitoring of progress
Ability to assess, monitor and report on students’ progress
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Ability to effectively manage, organise and control students’ working
Ability to successful encourage students to the highest standards of individual achievement

GHS is a large, multi-cultural, mixed gender, non-selective High School based in Southall, Ealing. We have a large Post-16 centre of over 500 students and our own "school within a school": I-Block, a "stepping stone" for Yrs. 7 & 8. Over the last decade we have consistently been in the top 5% of schools for student progress.
