Come and be part of our journey of transformation, inspiring the young people in North Norwich.

Sewell Park Academy, part of the Broad Horizons Education Trust, is looking to appoint either a Teacher of History or Geography to join our team. The school has a burgeoning reputation, whilst growing rapidly with ever-increasing student and staff numbers, and has now become annually oversubscribed. You would be joining an exceptional department in a school which values every subject within the curriculum. Visits to the school are actively encouraged to allow you to see what takes place in Sewell Park Academy every day and what makes us so special. A school where the working week is designed to allow departmental collaboration, minimise meeting requirements outside of school hours and harmonise work-life balance. On occasions, there is a requirement for teachers within the humanities departments to teach outside of their specialism. Therefore, a knowledge of other curriculum areas is encouraged.

Please consider applying if you can:

  • Understand the content you are teaching and how it is learnt

  • Create a supportive classroom environment characterised by student and teacher relationships

  • Maximise the opportunities to learn by managing the classroom

  • Activate hard thinking by presenting content, activities and interactions that activate students’ thinking

  • Reflect on your teaching and are determined to improve as a practitioner

  • Be committed to the education of all young people.
