Teacher of Humanities and Economics (Maternity Cover) job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Humanities with the ability to contribute to the delivery of Economics at Key Stage 5. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate teacher to join a supportive and high-performing department, with scope to develop their experience in teaching Economics.
The successful candidate will:
Support the planning, delivery and ongoing development of the Economics curriculum at Key Stage 5
Teach highly effective lessons that engage, challenge and inspire students
Monitor student progress and contribute to strategies that secure strong outcomes
Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning across the department
Work with experienced colleagues to develop and refine curriculum resources
The ideal candidate will:
Hold strong subject knowledge in a Humanities discipline and Economics, or be willing to develop this quickly
Be an effective classroom practitioner with a track record of positive student outcomes
Demonstrate the ability to engage and enthuse students about Economics
Have experience teaching Key Stage 4 and/or Key Stage 5
Be committed, enthusiastic and driven, with a passion for inspiring young people
Be keen to contribute to the continued success of a high-performing school and sixth form
Be willing to engage in ongoing professional development
