What the school offers its staff
Tanbridge House School is an inspiring place to work, where students and staff share the same goals and strive to be exceptional every day through our core values of Care Kindness and Achievement. We ‘teach to the top’ to ensure that students are challenged in all lessons. Staff are reflective and committed to continually developing their own practice.
Our statutory Faith, Philosophy and Thinking curriculum significantly contributes to the ethos and character of the school; Care, Kindness & Achievement. It helps students develop responsibility and respect for all aspects of diversity and inclusion, whether it be social, cultural and religious, and prepare students well for life in modern Britain. It enables pupils to ask deep and often searching questions about their own beliefs, and the beliefs, faiths and opinions of others regarding pertinent contemporary moral issues. We also aim to inspire students to become philosophers and deep thinkers who can make critical and balanced judgements about questions of meaning and purpose through developing subject literacy in terms of vocabulary and conceptual understanding.
Our statutory curriculum is delivered via tutor periods and dedicated lessons. In 2025, our GCSE Philosophy and Ethics students achieved 43.8% at grades 7 to 9, reflecting the excellent teaching throughout their time at THS. As you can see, we are a strong department that is looking to maintain this high-quality teaching and passion for our subject.
