Franklin Sixth Form College is a thriving, successful sixth form college serving North East Lincolnshire and the surrounding rural and coastal areas. Teacher of Humanities 

 Full Time or Part Time considered – Permanent

Due to continued growth, we are seeking to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic Teacher of Humanities to join our dedicated and forward-thinking department. This post is available on a full-time or part-time permanent basis, starting September 2025.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to contribute to a dynamic Humanities faculty that values critical thinking, global awareness, and academic excellence. The successful candidate will teach across a range of Humanities subjects, depending on specialism, and will support the delivery of a rich, engaging, and inclusive curriculum.

You will be joining a collaborative and supportive team with a strong tradition of innovative teaching, high academic standards, and a commitment to student success. We are proud to foster a stimulating environment where both students and staff thrive.

We welcome applications from candidates who:

• Hold a degree in a Humanities discipline (e.g., History, Geography, Politics, Philosophy, Religious Studies, Sociology)

• Possess a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent)

• Are committed to high-quality teaching and learning

• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Demonstrate flexibility, enthusiasm, and dedication to student progress

These posts are on the Sixth Form Colleges Teachers Pay Spine, NSP 1-9; currently £32,178 to £49,725 FTE depending on experience. We offer a supportive working environment allowing all teachers to continually develop.

Teaching task for shortlisted candidates only (preparation for the interview date)

To support the interview process and reduce preparation time, shortlisted candidates will be asked to deliver a 30-minute mini-lesson to a group of 21 Year 1 A Level students.

• Topic Area: Democracy

• You may choose to approach this theme from a History, Politics, Ancient History, or Philosophy and Ethics perspective.

• The specific focus within this broad topic is entirely up to you.

A computer and Smartboard will be available in the classroom should you wish to use them
