Teacher of Humanities job summary

We are looking for an aspirational teacher to teach Humanities at John O’Gaunt School, up to KS4. Do you have the drive and enthusiasm to make a real impact on children's life chances by teaching a Humanities subject? We will consider full or part-time applications and any specialism.

John O'Gaunt School is situated in the beautiful historic market town of Hungerford on the Berkshire/Wiltshire border and is very much at the heart of the community it serves. There are good road and rail links, with easy access to the M4 and a 10 minute walk from the station.

This is an exciting time to join John O’Gaunt, part of Excalibur Academies Trust and judged to be a 'Good' school by Ofsted. The school roll is growing and it is unique and special place to work. We are a place with ‘big school ambition and small school care’. This means that we offer all the benefits and ambitions of larger schools, whilst offering the care and support that only a smaller community school like ours can. Our philosophy is secured on a bedrock of teamwork - evident across the whole school and the school truly has a family feel. Additionally, we offer;

Generous relocation package

Teachers' Pension Scheme

Employee Assistance Scheme, as part of a strong wellbeing programme

Career development opportunities within school and across the Trust

Strong Professional Development based on individual needs

Cycle to Work Scheme

Flexible Family Friendly Policies

Excellent resources and facilities - the department has full technician support

Excalibur Academies Trust is growing, creating opportunities for ambitious, innovative and outward looking professionals with a desire to progress and develop. We never forget that the strength of our organisation is entirely dependent upon the quality of our people and that it is our responsibility to offer the best training, support and development for every member of staff. This starts from the moment you join with a comprehensive onboarding programme, management support and wide ranging CPD opportunities.

We reserve the right to appoint before the deadline if appropriate so would encourage early applications.
