Your new school
Lift Ryde, based on the Isle of Wight, is an 11 to 18 years secondary school and is part of Lift Schools, one of the largest MATs in the country made up of 59 schools. The school is set in spacious grounds and had a completely new state of the art building in 2017. All staff have access to a free on site gym with a range of fantastic equipment. Known as the "Garden Isle" because of its beautiful landscape, unspoilt beaches, rugged coastline and beautiful countryside. Judged as 'Good' by Ofsted in November 2022, Lift Ryde is a school that pupils feel proud to attend, with a calm and orderly environment. Staff are also proud to work at the school and recognise that leaders are considerate of their workload.

Your new role
Our Humanities Department is made up of 4 History Teachers, 5 Geography Teachers, RE, Citizenship, Philosophy and Ethics. The team are a truly fantastic team who are welcoming and professional, not only will you join a high performing team, you will have superb resources and a lovely department area. Due to the current postholder relocating, we are looking for a Humanities Teacher, predominantly focusing on History with some Religious Education. This is critical in delivering a broad and balanced curriculum, facilitating a positive learning environment where all students feel supported and encouraged to reach their full potential. You will design engaging lessons, assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to raise standards of student attainment. Additionally, you will collaborate with other teaching staff, pastoral staff and parents to support the personal development of students, addressing their individual needs and promoting inclusivity. What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified teacher of Humanities with a proven track record of working successfully in a school environment. An understanding of what an excellent education looks like in the classroom with a strong understanding of the strategies needed to establish consistently high expectations. You will also know and understand how to assess the relevant subject and curriculum areas, including statutory assessment requirements.
