Teacher of Humanities: Religious Education job summary

RE sits at the very heart of what it is to be human – to live in a diverse society, to pursue answers to Big Life Questions, to understand how what we believe impacts upon what we will and will not tolerate in life. We are looking for a teacher with a passionate love for the purpose and rightful place of RE for young adults, and is excited at the prospect of delivering brave RE in a growing and dynamic Humanities Faculty.

The role and what we are looking for
RE is a popular subject throughout all year groups, and therefore we are looking for someone who can help bring RE to life through engaging and exciting lessons. You will support the Curriculum Leader of Humanities, to grow and develop the expanding department, with plenty of opportunity to make your mark. We need someone who will set high expectations for teaching and learning, inspire students to love learning, and challenge our young people to think in new ways. You must be willing to model and support the Oasis ethos.

This role is essential in the development of the Academy as it grows in size, year on year, to eventually house 1500 students.

What are you waiting for? Apply today!
Like what you see? Make sure you fill out an application today and submit to us before the deadline of 9am on Wednesday 29th June, 2022. All applications should be emailed to recruitment@oasisleesbrook.org. Alternatively you can apply through TES. Please note, we do not accept CVs.

Our Academy
We are a secondary school in Oldham, Greater Manchester that opened in 2018 and are dedicated to supporting our young people to reach their potential. We leave no child behind; our progress data is incredibly strong and it is attributed to the hard work of our staff and students. We work together, sharing this educational journey with a common goal - develop happy and successful leaders who are culturally enriched role models in our community. Being part of the Oasis Community Learning multi-academy trust, we benefit from support and sharing of best practice from our regional schools, Regional Director and wider Oasis family.

We opened the Academy in temporary accommodation in 2018, with just 230 students across two year groups. In November 2020 we moved into our new, permanent home, which is a brand new, state of the art building that sits on the old Breeze Hill School site located on Roxbury Avenue, just off Lees Road in Oldham. We have just under 800 students, after we welcomed another 300 students in September 2022.

Our offer to you
When you join the Oasis family there are a number of offers you’ll receive that make us stand out as an employer of choice. These include but are not limited to:

• Clear career progression
• Comprehensive training opportunities with access to NPQML and NPQSL programmes
• Reduced workload through the Oasis curriculum resource bank
• Trust-wide opportunities to make an impact through National Lead Practitioner incentive
• Integrated support
• Access to free counselling service
• Free eye tests
• A lively environment with colleagues who care
