Stokesley School is an 11-18 fully comprehensive school. We became an academy in April 2015 as the founding member of Areté Learning Trust. Since then we have been joined by Richmond School and Northallerton School.

Every Academy within the Trust has its own unique values and ethos whilst being committed to the overarching principle of ‘being the best we can be’, the mission statement of the Areté Learning Trust which underpins the work of all Trust Academies. Ultimately, this is rooted in the shared belief that every child, whatever his or her circumstances and starting point, has unique skills and qualities and given the support, encouragement, opportunity and challenge to achieve, can do so. It is the commitment of the Trust and the Academies within it to create a context for all children and young people to thrive academically, personally and socially, so that they experience the real joy of learning.

Within Stokesley School, the culture of ‘being the best we can be’ is underpinned by three simple words which also form the basis of our school rules: ambitious, ready, respectful. We demand high standards from our students, but we also understand the importance of demonstrating these core values ourselves. When Stokesley students are asked what the best thing about their school is, they invariably say ‘the staff’: our school is built upon positive relationships and it is a pleasure to work here. We sincerely hope you choose us for your next career move and become part of our successful and committed team.
