What skills and experience we're looking for

Essential

  • Teaching of ICT/Computer Science to at least GCSE level.
  • A proven track record as a good/outstanding classroom teacher.
  • A proven track record of high standards of achievement.
  • The ability to use data effectively to track progress, set targets and implement appropriate intervention strategies.
  • Experience as a Form Tutor.

Desirable

  • Experience of teaching within an 11-18 school.
  • Experience of teaching ICT at Post 16 level.
  • Experience of teaching Computer Science at Post 16 level.

Essential

  • The ability to use an imaginative range of teaching strategies to promote high expectations and high levels of challenge.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of strategies for promoting good relationships with students and effective behaviour management techniques.
  • Excellent up-to-date subject knowledge and passion for the curriculum area.
  • Knowledge of effective assessment strategies.
  • Understanding of how to adapt teaching to meet need.
  • Good working knowledge of recent developments within ICT.
  • Confident use of ICT including a good knowledge of interactive technologies and the application of these to engage and interest students.
