Vacancy for Teacher of Learning Support - 20% to 40% of full time hours available

We are looking to appoint a Learning Support Teacher who shares our core values which are set out clearly in the attached documents. This is a part time role working within the well resourced SEND Department. This post will be a wonderfully rewarding experience for the successful candidate as they will be joining a supportive team which is part of our wider Meridian family of teachers.
This role has been created in response to the growing positive reputation of the SEND provision here at Ely College. The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of our curriculum for our SEND students and help us provide support for emotional literacy and therapeutic interventions.
Responsibilities
- Get to know your students quickly so that you can adapt teaching plans to meet the needs of your students
- Keep accurate records of assessments and homework in line with faculty expectations
- To fully comply with all policies and procedures
- Play an active role in the maintenance of exceptional behaviour across the college
- Carry out duties in accordance with the duty rota
- Make sure that all deadlines for reporting are met
- Ensure that parental communication takes place in line with the college policies and is conducted with the utmost professionalism and courtesy
- Take an active role within our pastoral system as a vertical tutor
The ideal candidate
- Qualified Teacher Status and degree in specialist subject
- Experience of teaching at KS3 to KS4
- Evidence of securing high outcomes from students
- Ability to use IT to support effective teaching and learning
- Commitment to continuing professional development
- Effective form tutoring and committed to the importance of pastoral support
- Understand and be a proud advocate of the five values of all Meridian Trust schools
- Believe that students make the best progress when teaching is well planned and well delivered
