As a result of internal promotion, we have an exciting opportunity to appoint a Teacher of Mathematics to join the team at George Pindar School. This post is offered on a permanent, 1.0 FTE basis, and we would welcome applications from those considering part time working.

You will be helping to lead this core faculty to greater heights and supporting our students to be their very best. You will be joining #TeamPindar at an exciting time as we continue our post-academisation journey to good. The maths faculty is characterised by collaboration and curriculum developments have been a huge feature of the faculty’s progress over the last four years. The faculty comprises staff who are highly experienced. The department is ably supported by our Trust Director of Mathematics. Staff are open to new initiatives and ideas - Innovation is at the heart of our development. Staff benefit from a wide range of professional development opportunities which are specific to the subject area or to wider school improvement and career enhancement. There are opportunities to contribute to the wider school community through work as a form tutor and through whole-school initiatives. The main focus of the Subject Teacher's role is fostering the learning and progress of the pupils in their care. This involves being an effective teacher of pupils as well as of the subject. Quality of preparation, resourcing, planning, subject expertise, teaching skill, pace, challenge, proactive classroom management, effective marking and assessment, high expectations, and positive personal relationships are all central to providing the conditions within which pupils' personal skills, abilities, understanding, learning and progress can be developed.
