Our Department - The Mathematics Department at Crawshaw blends innovative ideas with seasoned expertise. Our team consists of eight specialist teachers and a HLTA who provides vital support in our lessons. We take a collaborative approach to teaching, regularly sharing ideas, resources, and strategies. Our meetings centre on refining teaching methods and discussing ways to continually enhance our curriculum. Our department is fully established, and we are now seeking a passionate, like-minded individual to join our team. Together, we can continue improving the life chances of our students. The mathematics corridor is well-regarded as a calm, focused environment, where we prioritise progress for every student. As one of the highest-performing departments in the school, we are proud of our excellent track record in classroom management and student achievement.
Our Results - Our results consistently outperform national averages, with grade 4+ and 5+ rates exceeding national benchmarks, and our grade 7+ results matching national figures. Last year, we celebrated a record achievement of 10 students earning a grade 9! Additionally, we offer a Further Mathematics course, where 100% of students achieved grade 7+ and 75% earned grade 9s.

We are a mixed 11-18 Academy with a comprehensive intake; the majority of whom live in the Pudsey Area. The proportion of students supported by the pupil premium is average as is the proportion of students supported at school action plus or with a statement of special educational needs. We have strong links with the Pudsey Community and work in partnership with Priesthorpe School and Pudsey Grangefield at Post-16 level.
