We are geographically situated just a 20 minute drive from the city of Plymouth, for those who like the comfort and convenience of the city, while maintaining a traditional rural location in Callington, Cornwall, with Bodmin Moor on one side and Dartmoor on the other side. The views outside of our classroom windows are enviable. Our school has just under 1,000 students which is the perfect size for knowing each of our children individually and enhancing our family feel.

We are a school where loyalty to our local community and its families are the highest of our priorities. We are not just the bricks and mortar of our building, we work extensively with and for our community.

We require a passionate and inspirational Teacher of Mathematics to join our thriving Mathematics Department at Callington Community College which has a coherently sequenced and strong curriculum designed and developed by continued collaboration of colleagues across the trust. Lesson resources have been co-constructed to reduce planning load whilst still enabling creativity, adaptability and ownership of resource and delivery. The department offers A Level Mathematics and attracts a strong Post-16 cohort year on year. We would expect the successful candidate to be able to teach across Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5. We would welcome applications from experienced and early career teachers

You will be well supported by a range of colleagues who are focussed on teaching and learning, and by a comprehensive programme of induction and training to ensure your individual needs are met.

Are you passionate about your subject? Are you fully committed to learning, high quality teaching and raising standards of all students? Are you able to face challenges, whilst maintaining your sense of humour and care for young people? If so, this is the job for you!

Callington Community College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The post is subject to receipt of satisfactory enhanced DBS clearance, which will include, if appropriate, a letter of good conduct from any country in which an applicant has worked or lived in within the last 5 years; plus prudent checks of references and employment history. The interview will include questions about safeguarding children.
