The Role
As a Teacher of Mathematics, you will play a key role in delivering high‑quality teaching and learning across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to contribute to KS5 where appropriate. You will plan and deliver well‑structured lessons with clear learning intentions, using adaptive teaching strategies and effective assessment to ensure all students make strong progress. Your practice will reflect high expectations, secure subject knowledge, and a commitment to stimulating students’ intellectual curiosity through engaging pedagogy, effective questioning, modelling and the purposeful use of resources. You will contribute to curriculum development, faculty planning and the wider work of the Mathematics team, ensuring alignment with whole‑school priorities and the Teachers’ Standards.
The role also involves active participation in the wider life of the school. You will work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff and the Inclusion Faculty to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND. You will contribute to assessment and reporting processes, uphold strong behaviour for learning, and model the school’s values in your daily practice. As part of a supportive and ambitious faculty, you will engage in ongoing professional development, share good practice, and help promote a culture of teamwork, resilience and continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For
You will be an effective classroom practitioner with Qualified Teacher Status and a strong understanding of the Mathematics curriculum at KS3 and KS4, with the ability to teach KS5 desirable. You bring secure knowledge of pedagogy, assessment and curriculum design, and you are committed to keeping your practice up to date through ongoing professional development. You can analyse data to inform teaching, set clear targets and adapt your approach to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND. Your organisational skills, ability to plan effectively and commitment to raising standards will be evident in your day‑to‑day work.
Personally, you will be a positive, enthusiastic and resilient team player who can also work independently when required. You build strong relationships with students and colleagues, demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and maintain high expectations for behaviour and engagement. You are motivated by helping students achieve their potential and are committed to the school’s community ethos and British values. Above all, you bring a passion for Mathematics and a desire to make a meaningful impact on students’ learning and development.
