What skills and experience we're looking for

Mathematics is both a popular and successful subject at Borden. Further Mathematics and Statistics are currently offered as option subjects at Key Stage 4, whilst Further Mathematics and Statistics are taught in addition to Mathematics at Key Stage 5. The successful candidate will therefore be joining a popular and successful department of specialists focused on pedagogical improvement and passionate about creating a love for their subject. Extra-curricular projects and visits are also commonplace and established across every key stage.

The post is equally suited to somebody seeking to join the profession or looking for career development by securing a new post. Borden does a great deal to consider the wellbeing of its staff (see below) and the successful candidate can be confident that Borden is an enjoyable, inspirational and supportive place to work.

What the school offers its staff

Would you like to work in a “harmonious community” where “pupils are keen to learn and respectful to all”? (Ofsted, November 2021). Our Borden values of kindness, creativity, resilience, courageousness and respect are underpinned by our strong belief in the importance of effort, underlined by our school motto “striving forward together”. The successful candidate will be expected to model these values and to join us in our journey, with drive and determination, to improve the life chances for all the students we teach.

We are a school that cares for its staff as well as students. As an example, here are some of the things we offer:

  • Free Benenden Healthcare, flu jabs, counselling and therapy dog,
  • Parking available on site for all staff and members of the cycle to work scheme,
  • Wellbeing charter signatories with an active wellbeing and workload committee,
  • No more than one directed meeting a week and early finishes before events.
