Job description
From September 2019, we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Teacher of Mathematics who is keen to support and enable students to achieve across the 11-18 range.
The successful candidate will join a well-resourced and experienced Mathematics department in a school that is committed to staff induction, support and investment. The Mathematics department at Aylesford is a leading department within the school and we pride ourselves with consistently outstanding results. Students enjoy their Mathematics lessons and are taught by a welcoming, experienced and dedicated team of Mathematicians.
This is a full time, permanent position which will be paid on the TMS/UPS. We are also willing to consider a part time job share arrangement – please state on your application what your preferred days/hours of working would be.

MATHEMATICS DEPARTMENT
The Mathematics department consists of a pleasant suite of 9 classrooms and a computer room housed together. Each classroom is equipped with an interactive whiteboard, projector and computer giving access to a rich variety of resources from the school network and the internet.
At Key Stage 3, students are set in to 2 parallel bands of 4/5 sets each side, grouped by ability, supported by a variety of resources including textbooks, a large library of specially designed student activities and computer based packages such as Maths Watch.
At Key Stage 4 students are set by ability across the year, allowing easy movement between groups. Students follow the new AQA 9-1 GCSE course from year 9.
At Key Stage 5, A-level Mathematics and Further Mathematics are very popular options. All students doing A-level mathematics follow the Edexcel exam board.
