Job description

To teach Mathematics as identified by the schemes of work
• to teach Mathematics to students throughout the age and ability range
• to teach a second subject if required
• to attend appropriate meetings/courses in order to keep abreast of developments, to disseminate and train staff where appropriate
• to participate in activities associated with performance management.
• to prepare students’ reports, written or verbal and to meet deadlines, as deemed necessary by the Senior Leadership Team or the Governors

Honours degree

Essential qualifications

Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent in specialist area

Essential skills and experience

Experience of successfully teaching Mathematics across KS3 & KS4 and across the whole ability range
Willingness to teach a second subject as required
Experience of successfully teaching students with challenging behaviour
Ability and willingness to teach L3 qualifications at KS5 as the popularity of the subject grows
Confident communicator, communicating effectively and concisely both in written and verbal form to a variety of audiences
Ability to use technology and appropriate software to enhance learning
Clear evidence of current knowledge and views in subject and curriculum development
Ability to plan for progression and implement developments effectively
Ability to review, evaluate and implement schemes of work and syllabus
Ability to build and maintain successful relationships with students
Commitment to the Trust’s Christian ethos and educational purpose
An ability to be able to embrace change
